Is the background remover free?
Yes. Removing a background and downloading the preview (up to 640 pixels) is free and needs no account, up to 5 images a day. A full-resolution download costs one credit.
How much does an HD download cost?
Credits come in packs: 12 for $3, 25 for $5 or 60 for $10, so an HD image costs between 17 and 25 cents. Credits never expire and there is no subscription.
What image formats can I upload?
JPG, PNG and WebP images up to 15 MB, from your device or a link. You always get back a PNG with a transparent background, at the same size as your image (up to 4000 pixels on the long side).
What happens to my images?
Your image is sent to our processing provider, Photoroom, only to remove the background. The result is kept for 24 hours so you can download it, then deleted.
Can I pay with Mobile Money?
Yes. In Rwanda, Uganda, Kenya, Ghana, Nigeria and Zambia prices are shown in your local currency and you can pay with MTN MoMo, Airtel Money, M-Pesa or card. Everyone else pays by card in US dollars.
What works best?
Product photos, portraits, people, pets, cars and objects with a clear subject. Fine detail like hair is kept. Busy scenes where the subject is unclear give weaker results.
